II- ROLE of a SECTION EDITOR

I- The Section Editor has to make a list of diseases or genes (e.g. part "Genes specifically involved in Cell cycle" in the page http://atlasgeneticsoncology.org/Categories/Cell_cycle.html ), any item needing that a paper is written.
I-1. The Section Editor then takes charge of:
I-1.1. important items which are not done ( " Need an author " ) and/or
I-1.2. updates of too old papers (e.g. "2005-03" in the above mentioned page, concerning APC)
Either by finding authors (for most papers), or by writing him/herself papers (for some).
Note: there is also the possibility of "Deep Insights".

It would be appreciated that Section Editors provide 5 papers (or more) a year.

As the Section Editor choose the invited authors on the grounds of:
I-2.1. knowledge in the matter;
I-2.2. ability to write i) fully documented papers; ii) in a very didactic manner,
there is, most of the time, no need for external referring (the 2 referees being the Section Editor and the Editor in Chief), and often ("often", not "most of the time") no need either for asking revisions.
Inasmuch as there are guidelines/submissions forms (templates) to be strictly used (e.g. http://atlasgeneticsoncology.org/Forms/Solid_Tumor_Form_for_submission.doc ), so that authors cannot miss an important item, either in the clinic part or in the molecular one.
I-3. The Section Editor sends the papers to the Editor at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
